We at STAYUPONGAME would like to take the opportunity to introduce to you our new feature called LEAGUE SPOTLIGHT where we hightlight and feature a local league.

Our 1st LEAGUE SPOTLIGHT is on Ballerszone League.

Ballerszone League started back in 2013 in Glendale, CA at Maple Park. Original league owners were Mark Tubalnal, June Bulatao and Bryan Baluyot. Bryan is currently the league owner for the Valley divisions and brought on Jayr Federico in 2014 to expand to LA. June Bulatao is still involved with Ballerszone and a close family member giving all that he can without expecting much in return. Erikson Eberhardt was a big contributor as well to Ballerszone success and still holds close ties with the league.

We were recently able to sit down with Jayr and Bryan for some Q & A to get more info on the league.

STAYUPONGAME: How many teams were in the 1st division back in 2013?

BZL: 6 Teams, League Champion that season was Tune Squad

STAYUPONAGME: How many teams has the league expanded to?

BZL: Currently we are at 35 Teams with 4 divisions in LA and the Valley. At one point we had 50 teams and 5 divisions running.

STAYUPONGAME: What gyms do you currently use?

BZL: We use Boys and Girls Club San Fernando, Montectio Park in LA, and 1st Place Sports Complex in Chatsworth.

STAYUPONGAME: What is a momentous season or game you will never forget?

BZL: "Championship game between Pollos Hermanos and The Club. Pollos Hermanos went into that game as a major underdog to The Club. This had to be the best game I have ever seen. Erikson was the league MVP and we didnt want to tell anyone but the guy clearly deserved it."-Bryan

"My first Ballerszone Championship with Team Sinegang. We were last place and played 2 back to back games and won the championship by 1 point."-Jayr

STAYUPONGAME: What is a goal for Ballerszone or where do you see the league in the future?

BZL: We see Ballerszone being out there for a long time with the help and support of our bball family.

STAYUPONGAME: Are there any upcoming events we should look forward to or mark our calendar for?

BZL: MLK Weekend we are hosting a 3on3 Tournament on Jan 17,2016 in Woodland Hills and July we are in the planning stages for a 5 on 5 Tournament as well. We also have a new division starting up sunday afternoons at the end of January in the Valley.

Closing Remarks: Ballerszone Valley and LA is a fun and competitive league. Bryan and Jayr put a lot of time and heart into their leagues. They both are well respected in the basketball communities and overall good, fun people to be around. Ballerszone league features many things other leagues dont such as all star games, shooting stars challenge, 3 point contests, raffles, and a best of 3 playoff series for their championship in their tuesday night valley division. This league comes highly recommended as a STAYUPONGAME favorite.
